We support disabled people to have the freedom to live their lives the way they choose. At our foundation, what we do goes far beyond providing social care. We help disabled people find and remain in employment and build their confidence through information, advice and guidance, and to break down potential barriers through access to computers and adapted IT equipment. The foundation focuses on the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses.
With just about 3,000 optometrists catering for over 200 million people in Nigeria, skilled manpower in the eye care profession is grossly inadequate thus most people are deprived of basic eye care. Donations allow the foundation to fund the solution by supporting programs that:
We bring eye care where its needed most and empower the next generation of eye doctors. Our foundation supports local communities around the globe through initiatives that bring eye care, eyewear, education and disaster relief to places where they’re needed most. To date, the foundation has invested millions of naira in no-cost eye care and eyewear that hundreds of people in need.
