There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up
Covid-19 pandemic which has hit the world so hard in all rounds, is a massive weapon of human destruction. Apart from its health challenges, death threats, economic depreciation and restriction of movements, the greatest adverse effect of coronavirus on people is hunger strike which if not well confronted will kill more than the virus itself. the impact it has in peoples’ lives is unspeakable that only novelists can capture it all but we are not unaware of the obvious ones ranging from fear, hardship, hunger and devastation. It is for this reason that our nation, the states, cooperate organisations and good spirited individuals as well as the world at large, are poised to extricate the society from its grips.
With the situation at hand, it is crystal clear that the world is bleeding, the people are hungry and death is knocking but what matters most is our very own contribution to the society in times like this, having in mind that there is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
It is Martin Luther King who in one of his many quotes that said and i quote “Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness”, hence it hovers on every man not to be selfish at this period of time rather make his own contributions in the line of protecting and saving lives through charity, especially to the down-trodden while the world fights this pandemic to a standstill.
It is a known fact that since the inception of this evil virus, Dr Uzoma Obiyo has been so committed in the fight against Covid-19 both nationally and statewise. His efforts in the fight to eradicate coronavirus, is well pronounced in Imo State where he is using his business and personal contacts to attract support and funding to the state government on its fight against the pandemic. Dr Uzoma has not relented in sensitising people on precautionary measures, which he does almost on a daily basis through his foundation “Samuel-Mary & Dame Emily Obiyo Foundation”.
In his unwavering commitment to charity, he has set out tommorrow (Friday) 8th May, 2020, as an Emergency Food & Preventive Material Response where he, through Samuel-Mary & Dame Emily Obiyo Foundation will be identifying with the less privileged and down trodden individuals in Ikeduru LGA of Imo State.
To the Ugiri-Ike born billionaire and the CEO of Multinet Group and Samuel-Mary & Dame Emily Obiyo Foundation, the simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer. He believes it is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving, reason he is calling on the hungry to come and have food.
Therefore, all Ikeduru people who cannot afford food and preventive materials are hereby requested to come to the Castle of Grace home of Dr. Uzoma Obiyo at Ugiri-Ike, Nneise in Ikeduru LGA, Imo State by 10 a.m.
